Inspired by the Quran that has numerous mentions of astronomical phenomena, Muslims wrote various original works and inherited from Ancient Greek and Indian knowledge which was then subjected it to the test of the Quran. Not only was Astronomical data from Greek texts completely revised and perfected, but for the first time, Astrology was separated from Astronomy and Physics was harmonized with Astronomy, making it something that is recognizable to a modern scientist.

But here is the interesting part- Do you know the initial reason for the development of Islamic Astronomy? It is the most central part of a believers life- Prayer ! In particular the Asr prayer that required Muslims to master the Science of the heavens to determine the exact time of the noon prayer.
